Open Question: My 2003 Ford F-150 is making a rattling sound underneath?

The mechanics are saying it is the transmission mount's rubber stopper being gone (manual) but I think it is something else...you can only hear it after the truck has warmed up a little bit and it seems to go away when you rev the engine a little....any ideas? OK, so there is a small crack in the muffler and it is hard for me to tell if there is any rubber underneath the transmission mount...which one would you most likely fix first?
